Yocum Tribute: Boarding up the 401 06/15/2011
Its Wednesday! We are half-way to Friday. So here's a little something to brighten those mid-week blues. Senior Tate McCurdy decided to film a video tribute to his retiring teacher, Kathy Yocum. Although the video is a bit longer than those that we'll typically post here on the Marist Blog, its a fun, light look at the influence one teacher can make, and how difficult it can be to replace such a legend. Enjoy! 2 Comments Congratulations to the Class of 2011! 06/13/2011
Marist High School is pleased to announce the graduation of 123 seniors in the class of 2011. This class has been a great group of kids, and Marist teachers, staff and administrators have been honored to have the opportunity to teach and advise them every day. At Marist, these students have received an outstanding education, many of them earning college-level credit in the process of their education. The class learned the value of serving others, performing 8,545 hours of community service, which included hours spent in soup kitchens, community gardens, pregnancy relief centers, nurseries, migrant labor camps and more. Now as they move on, they will continue their education all over the country. Out of the 123 graduates, 24 will move on to the University of Oregon, 16 will attend Oregon State University, 14 will attend Lane Community College, and 21 will attend Catholic Universities nationwide including the University of Portland, Seattle University, Gonzaga, Creighton, San Diego, Villanova, Loyola Marymount and Notre Dame. Marist would like to thank the class for being great kids, hard working and for demonstrating strong values, respect, and a love for one another.
