Happy Halloween from Marist High School! It may be a bit spooky today on campus... we never know who (or what) will show up to attend classes, or check in on us. But it's Halloween and that's part of the fun! So pull out the candy bags and get ready for ghouls, goblins.. and the occasional Imperial trooper to stop by your door tonight!

An annual Homecoming Week tradition here at Marist High School is called the Class (Decade) Dance. Here's how it works: Each class will work together to choreograph and practice a dance routine representing the styles made famous through 4 decades. Freshman represent the 1950's, sophomores represent the 1960's, juniors represent the 1970's and seniors represent the 1980's. At an assembly held the morning before the Homecoming football game, each class will perform their dance in front of the school and a panel of judges. The winning class will earn points that go toward the Class Cup, a week-long class competition where points are earned from dressing up for each spirit day, and bigger events like the class trivia bowl, class tug-of-war, and class karaoke. In 2011, the seniors reigned supreme winning many events (although the juniors beat them in the Trivia Bowl.)

As many parents and families were unable to attend the class dance competition assembly, we are posting each class dance below. Either click on them below to watch them here, or double click on the video to watch on Youtube, and share with family and friends on your social networks.

It's Marist Homecoming 2011! Tonight is the Marist Spartan vs. Willamette Wolverine's football matchup at 7 PM. If you are not able to make it to the game, you can still watch from home. The event will be broadcast live online. At 7 PM tonight in the video window below.

Please note, due to the outdoor nature of football games, October Oregon weather, and the fact that high end electronics don't like rain, if we have to pull the plug early you can still listen to the audio broadcast of the game! 95.3 The Score will be broadcasting their radio play by play, which can also be streamed online. Visit their site and click on "Listen Live" in the upper right hand corner of their home page.

If you don't have the bandwidth to actually watch the game (or listen to the audio), but still want to keep up with what is going on, then subscribe to our athletics Twitter feed for quarterly score updates, plus scores for our other sports as well. GO SPARTANS!
